Europe's Largest Indoor Climbing Park
High, higher, BergWerk Berlin!
BergWerk Berlin combines a fascinatingly designed adventure world with plenty of thrills and excitement. Here, you can climb with friends, family, or colleagues over innovative obstacle courses that rise to heights of up to 40 meters.
Of course, you are always safely secured with the latest technology.
The 'Bergwerk' that isn't a mine
By the way, BergWerk was not constructed in a purpose-built climbing hall. The climbing park is located in the premises of a multiplex cinema and the Helle Mitte shopping center. So, your adventure begins in a intricately designed small and dimly lit mine 'underground'.
Obstacle by obstacle, you will climb your way back to daylight over five levels. Some sections also extend outside of the 'mine' in the shopping center or near the cinema.
So while you climb at a height of 20 meters, people on the ground are shopping or watching you from cafes and restaurants. In the indoor high ropes garden, you can experience heights in a whole new way.
Here's how the day at BergWerk Berlin goes
Before You Start
Indoor climbing requires no prior knowledge. All you need for a visit is comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes - well, and a bit of courage
However, before you can dive into an unforgettable adventure, you will receive an in-depth safety briefing. During this briefing, you will learn among other things:
- how to secure yourself while climbing at BergWerk Berlin
- how to behave when you find yourself stuck on the course
- as well as basic behavioral rules on the course
When It's Time to Start
Then it's time to go. You decide which path to take. There is no set route that you must follow while moving through the mine.
At each individual platform, symbols are displayed to show you in which direction you can continue climbing. Arrows indicate the way forward, crosses signal opposing traffic and block a direction.
You don't need to be exceptionally fit for indoor climbing. Normal fitness is completely sufficient. Some obstacles require more strength (especially in the arms) than others. However, you'll quickly realize how best to navigate through the course while climbing.
It's also advantageous to climb in teams or pairs. This way, you can support each other or watch how the person in front of you navigates the course. So step out of your everyday routine and into BergWerk Berlin!
Safety at BergWerk Berlin
Safety is paramount when indoor climbing at BergWerk Berlin. While climbing in the high ropes garden, you are constantly secured.
The safety consists of comfortable climbing harnesses, helmets, and safety carabiners. When climbing in the climbing park and via ferrata, you will be secured with carabiners that 'communicate' with each other. This prevents you from accidentally disconnecting from the safety system.
If you open one carabiner to click into the next obstacle, the second carabiner locks. Only when the opened carabiner is reattached to the safety line can the second one be opened. Wearing a helmet is mandatory at BergWerk Berlin.
You will learn how to properly wear the harness and helmet during the mandatory briefing at the start of your adventure. The BergWerk team will also explain to you in detail how to use the carabiners and secure yourself.

Whether you're visiting BergWerk Berlin with friends, colleagues, or children - there's something for everyone. The indoor climbing park offers suitable courses for both kids and climbing experts. At BergWerk, you'll find the following courses:

The BergWerk.Summit Climbers course is the main course. It starts in the BergWerk.Junior and takes you through various routes from the underground mountain world back to daylight. There you will encounter 74 different obstacles that you must master by climbing, swinging, or balancing.
It can be quite strenuous at times. However, you don't need to be a fitness professional to conquer them. The lowest of the five levels is about 3.5 meters high - the highest reaches a maximum of 20 meters.
A highlight of the course is definitely the eight zip lines where you swing from one platform to the next.
BergWerk.Alpinista
If you want to take it up a notch, you can tackle the BergWerk.Alpinista course. It is the most challenging of the five courses and runs along the walls of the Helle Mitte shopping center.
The course begins with the Summit Climbers course. After an additional briefing, you will ascend the via ferrata. Here, the route no longer climbs vertically through the mine, but straight up to the glass roof. A highlight is the 40-meter-long zip line across the shopping center! A must for the brave and climbing experts!
