Kirtimaya Varma

 

 

Kirtimaya Varma graduated with a degree in electronics and telecom engineering from the University of Pune, Maharashtra, India in 1972. For 15 years he was an electronics engineer working on jobs that involved the operation and maintenance of satellite earth stations. While in the engineering profession, during his leisure time, he was a freelance writer of short stories, articles, and poems.

 

In 1988, Kirtimaya left the engineering profession and became a full-time writer and journalist.  Currently Editor-in-Chief with Reed Elsevier Singapore Pte Ltd, he edits five publications: EDN Asia, a monthly magazine on electronics design; ECN Asia, a monthly magazine on electronic components; WDD Asia, a bimonthly magazine on wireless design; EB Asia, an online magazine for electronics managers; and Electronics Asia, an annual guide on the electronics industry in Asia-Pacific. He is the author of two technical books published by Sterling Publishers of New Delhi.

 

The author, who has worked in various countries, travels extensively all over the world. He is married and the father of two teenage sons.

 

To research Together in Time, his first novel, Kirtimaya visited old-age homes in India, Singapore, and the Philippines, interviewing the residents and the staff.
